Our 2025 whole school project
All Hallows’ School is delighted to announce our 2025 Whole School Project – PROJECT THREADS.
Project THREADS will support two vital initiatives: the THREAD project at the Mater Hospital and the Livelihoods Project in Kiunga, PNG, run by Mercy Works.
THREAD at Mater Hospital is a state-wide service that has been transforming lives for nearly four years. At THREAD, young people engage in ongoing relapse prevention work for children experiencing substance addiction through individual and group therapy, medical assessments, recreational activities, and support with education and training. The program emphasises co-designed intervention planning, allowing young people to collaborate with specialist staff to tailor their treatment.
A key focus for 2025 is transforming the existing balcony area at Clarence Court Apartments into a therapeutic wellness space. Planned upgrades include weatherproofing, privacy screening, a BBQ area, seating, and an artwork space, creating a nurturing environment for healing and growth.
In addition to Mater's THREAD project, our 2025 whole school project will support the Livelihoods Project in Kiunga, PNG, financed by Mercy Works. This initiative aims to improve the living standards of West Papuan refugees and local communities by addressing poverty through sustainable livelihoods, agriculture, water, sanitation, hygiene, and education. Mercy Works has a long-standing presence in the region and continues to work closely with local leaders to achieve meaningful and lasting change.
By weaving together these two Mercy initiatives as the beneficiaries of our fundraising efforts in 2025, we will bring hope to two communities and make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need.
