Ms Carolyn Liddy
Dear Parents and Caregivers
As Term 2 draws to a close, I would like to take a moment to celebrate the hard work and achievements of our students.
Throughout the past two months, their application and tenacity have been outstanding, with many students achieving or making significant progress towards their personal goals .
Success takes many forms — from the classroom to the sporting field, in theatres and halls, libraries and learning labs, or across our beautiful campus in social and peer groups, our students have demonstrated their commitment to doing their best and being their best.
We are also impressed with how they have embraced our 2024 School Theme Listen with Curiosity, Speak with Courage and Act with Integrity in their everyday interactions.
We also acknowledge our dedicated staff and their ongoing commitment to inspiring young women to a life of faith, compassion, learning and leadership in the spirit of Mercy, and for you — our parents and caregivers, who work in partnership with us.
As we enjoy the last few weeks of Term 2, may we recognise and celebrate the development of our students, and our wonderful community who continually support and nurture their growth.
Giving Day — 2024 Imagine
Anticipation is building for the launch of our annual All Hallows’ Giving Day this Thursday 6 June. This year’s Giving Day theme, Imagine, calls us to envision the difference each member of our community can make for someone else.
Mother Teresa said, “I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples”, reminding us that with each individual contribution, regardless of its size, we collectively possess the power to change lives.
Just as Catherine McAuley could never have envisaged the ripple effect of using her inheritance for the benefit of others, impacting millions of women and children across the world, let us imagine the ripple effect if every member of our community gave just $5, $10 or even $2, and the monumental difference we could make for someone else.
Our goal this year is to raise $192,480 for the Catherine McAuley Bursary Fund, which supports students’ access to an All Hallows’ education.
We are very grateful to the many caring individuals within our community who have already contributed, those volunteering in our Volunteer Hub this Thursday, and our social media ambassadors raising awareness of this worthwhile cause.
Thank you to each member of our generous community for supporting of All Hallows’ Giving Day.

Junior Production
Our Years 7 and 8 students are buzzing with excitement for the Junior School production, Fight with all Your Might the Zombies of Tonight! which will be held this Thursday and Friday.
This highly anticipated event, held biennially, showcases the hard work and talent of some of our Years 7 and 8 students.
Under the guidance of our expert Drama teachers, Ms Sue Pearn and Ms Lydia Patterson our performers have been enthusiastically rehearsing for this spectacular showcase. We extend our gratitude to them and all staff members who have worked tirelessly to bring this wonderful development opportunity for our students to the stage.
We wish our budding thespians all the best for their upcoming performance which will be enjoyed by their peers, as well as parents and caregivers of the cast members and our wider community.
Dr Lee-Anne Perry AM Service and Leadership Award
Aspiring leaders, please step forward!
There are only a few weeks left to submit applications for the Dr Lee-Anne Perry AM Leadership and Service Award, with nominations closing on Sunday 30 June 2024. Proudly funded by our ever-supportive Past Pupils’ Association, the Award acknowledges the contributions of our many past pupils who are actively living out our Mercy ethos and improving the lives of others in our local and global community.
The recipient will receive a $5,000 grant to undertake or continue a project with social justice goals that will hone and develop their leadership skills. This might include an internship, project development, study tour or immersion.
Past pupils from the Class of 2014 or later are eligible, and individuals can either self-nominate, or nominate someone you believe is deserving of this Award. If nominating a past pupil, please contact Mrs Claire Easton (Dean of Mission) at DeanofMission@ahs.qld.edu.au or call 07 3230 9505 and allow enough time for the nominee to complete the application process.
Every blessing to you and your family in the week ahead.
Ms. Carolyn Liddy (Deputy Principal).
